Stepping into September: Reflections and New Beginnings
The Sun setting in Mallorca
This summer has truly been one to remember. From a family holiday in Crete, to celebrating my first wedding anniversary in Amsterdam, and ending with a sunshine break in Mallorca with my daughter Isla, I feel incredibly grateful. Each trip was special in its own way with moments of laughter, discovery, and rest. More importantly, they gave me the space I needed to recharge, reflect, and think carefully about what comes next both personally and professionally.
Of course, September always has its own rhythm. As soon as the calendar turned, reality hit with that familiar jolt! Back to my desk, pen in hand, capturing all the ideas that had been quietly simmering away during those long sunny days. I’ve come into this season with a notebook full of plans, a renewed sense of focus, and the energy to bring them to life.
So, what lies ahead?
New client programmes – Over the coming months, I’ll be shaping and launching a brand-new offer to sit alongside my Student Mentorship Programme. This is about listening carefully to the needs of clients and building services that create real, sustainable impact.
International Women’s Day 2026 – Planning begins now. Events of this scale don’t happen overnight....they require teamwork, collaboration, and meticulous attention to detail. I’m gathering the IWD team this month for our first brainstorming session, and I can’t wait to see where our collective ideas will take us.
Personal growth – In November, I’ll be starting my First Steps in Counselling course, a six-month journey that will no doubt challenge and inspire me in equal measure. Investing in my own development is something I hold dear, because it allows me to bring new skills, empathy, and perspective back into the work I do.
An exciting announcement – There’s something new on the horizon that I’m not quite ready to share just yet. But watch this space as I’ll be posting more soon.....
Looking back, the summer has given me a renewed clarity about how DEVA can continue to grow, evolve, and support more people in meaningful ways. It reminded me that rest and reflection aren’t luxuries, they’re vital ingredients for creativity, innovation, and balance.
As the leaves start to turn and the evenings draw in, autumn feels like the perfect moment to take those ideas and begin turning them into reality. I’m stepping into September with gratitude for what has been, excitement for what’s ahead, and a strong determination to make it count.
